My son caught this catfish in the pond in front of our house in NC. He caught it with a top water bait and ultra lite equipment. His foot is beside the catfish, he wears a size 12 shoe and they estimated it weighing about 15 pounds!
We went exploring along the Deep River in NC for the 4th of July. Better than fireworks!
Actually an albino catfish, but just as hard to catch. So we have dubbed him Moby Dick!

I live in Sanford, NC (actually just close to it) and on April 16th 2011 tornadoes devastated our area. This was a Lowes Home Improvement store. The photo was not taken by me, but by a local newspaper.
I love dragonflies. My daughter and I found this one on the porch. It was already dead but in near perfect condition.

My orchid I received a few years ago for Mother's Day. Her name is Mezzadril. She is absolutely beautiful!!!
Looking out at the Cape Fear River. There is a state park here called Ravenrock. It's miles of walking trails that lead to certain areas of the park. This is the end of the 'fish traps' trail. The water was low enough for us to go out on the rocks that create the fish traps.
These are Japanese ducks, so I'm told. Last summer right as the weather was cooling down for Autumn these 8 baby ducks were born (hatched). They survived the winter only to be killed off by a fox, and one got caught in ice on the pond and died. So out of 8 we have 3 left. The mama duck has recently died as well.
